The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared a portrait of their family on their official Instagram account that will feature on their holiday cards. The photo sees the family of five – Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis of Cambridge – sitting against a rocky mountain backdrop and on Arabian style seating in Jordan, where Middleton is known to have spent a part of her childhood. The relaxed portrait features the family in casual outfits and warm smiles. ‘Delighted to share a new image of the family, which features on this year’s Christmas card’, reads the caption. The family portrait was shot in Jordan earlier this year, however, the nature of the trip, the source behind the camera, and the visit date have not been revealed, as the brand new image seems to have been taken during a private holiday.
In the cheery snapshot, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, wears a brown tennis shirt paired with beige shorts and brown loafers. He sits on a gold pouffe next to his wife, Kate Middleton, who wears an olive green button – down dress. Their six – year – old daughter, Charlotte, sits next to her father in a white and blue gingham dress, while brother George wears a camo T-shirt. Louis, the youngest, charms the photo with a playful smile in a blue and white striped shirt.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, takes pride in having spent time in Jordan as a child namely when she was about two years old. In 1984, both her parents worked as a cabin crew members for British Airways: her father Michael as a manager, and her mother Carole, as a flight attendant, after the Middletons relocated to the capital of Amman. The family returned to England in September 1986, as soon as Michael’s posting came to an end.
Last year, the Camrbidges’ holiday card featured the family in sweaters, sitting on bales of straw in their Norfolk home.
