Pantone’s 2022 Color Of The Year Is Already Taking Over The Runways

With undertones of soft red and vibrant blue, periwinkle symbolizes joyous creativity and positive transformation associated with the spring fashion season.

PARIS, France – – Reminiscent of the blue skies that emerge during the months of spring, and its namesake flower, periwinkle is regarded as a color of rebirth and vibrance both inside and outside the realm of fashion.

Inspired by its peaceful aesthetic, designers across the board from Fendi to Miu Miu wove Pantone’s newly announced color of the year into their Spring / Summer 2022 collection.

Equally energetic and tranquil, and distinguishable by its airy mix of soft purple and blue, periwinkle is a universally flattering hue on all skin tones for its ability to bring out a cool glow.

In anticipation of the delightful Spring 2022 fashion season, designers embraced the playful tone by slipping it into floral patterns and boldly placing it onto tailored slacks.
