Van Cleef & Arpels’ Winter Floral Creations Arrive Just In Time For The Festive Season

Flowers in all forms bloom at Van Cleef & Arpels all throughout the year – welcoming the arrival of spring, celebrating the vibrancy of summer… Now they’ve created an enchanting spectacle at the height of winter, where shimmering gold meets ice – white gemstones. In Van Cleef & Arpels’ Diamond Breeze collection, classic favorites of the maison are reinterpreted and illuminated by the sparkle of brilliant – cut diamonds.

This year, the Lotus collection leads the ensemble, blossoming in pretty clusters and in varying numbers and sizes. Van Cleef & Arpels’ meticulous study of the lotus flower comes through in the pieces faithful details. Petals stretch out and upwards, reaching for the light and catching every passing breeze. At the heart sits a diamond – studded corolla quivering with a dazzling grace.

A delicate floral quartet adorns the Between the Finger ring. Meanwhile, the pendant shines with a trio of flowers arranged in perfect asymmetry – an emblematic style of Van Cleef & Arpels. Also unique to the maison is the openwork technique creating gaps in the gold allowing light to shine through the diamonds, accentuating their brilliance.

Likewise, the pair of earrings enchant the wearer with asymmetric lotus flowers, two of which are in contact with the skin, leaving the largest one suspended and showcased in all its full glory.

A symbol of beauty, purity, completion, and enlightenment, the lotus first appeared in Van Cleef & Arpels’ collection in 1920. The Lotus collection however officially appeared in 2001, as a Between the Finger ring featuring a single lotus flower with twines of undulating leaves. It went through a facelift in 2017, after which it reappeared with multiple motif jewellery pieces and even guest starred in the maison’s high jewellery and Zip necklace collections.

Since its first floral creation – a daisy clip made in 1907 – Van Cleef & Arpels has built an enviable collection of floral – inspired jewellery. Whether clustered as a bouquet, arranged in rows, or featured as a single blossom, flowers and nature at large are a permanent obsession at the maison.

In addition to the Lotus, earlier collection include Rose de Noel introduced in the 1970s, the tender Cosmos from 1981, and the Flowerlace high jewellery collection of 2007 which combined two of the maison’s favourite source of inspiration: nature and couture.

Not forgetting the delightful Frivole line launched in 2003 with its gracefully curved heart – shaped petals. In these graphic and aerial flowers, mirror polished gold offer a vivid shine that dances to the brilliance of diamond – paved surfaces. Worn together, these iced – out florals by Van Cleef & Arpels reveal a most magical winter spectacle, as they blossom with radiance and purity, even during the coldest months of the year.
