A Whitney Houston Hologram Concert Is Opening In Las Vegas

If you’ve always wanted to see Whitney Houston’s Las Vegas residency, this fall is your chance. Kind of. The deceased diva will be reincarnated visually and audibly, thanks to technology, at a spectacle called An Evening With Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Concert.

The program will feature the voice of the deceased diva, along with a live four – piece band, plus backup singers and dancers. Cinematic special effects are also promised at this extended residency, which will open at Harrah’s Las Vegas starting October 26, 2021.

While the ethics of using a late performer’s hologram to boost ticket sales and album downloads may by murky, Pat Houston, Whitney’s former Manager and President and CEO of The Estate of Whitney E. Houston, claims she discussed the concept with the performer a decade ago (before the Apple iPad was invented, for reference).

‘In 2011, Whitney and I discussed her idea of an intimate, unplugged concert tour. It was a project we called ‘Whitney Unplugged’ or ‘An Evening with Whitney’, said Pat Houston. ‘While Whitney’s no longer with us, her voice and legacy will live on with us forerver. An Evening With Whitney is another chance for us to relieve and celebrate the talent that we were so lucky to receive for more than three decades and we’re excited to bring this cutting – edge musical experience to the fans who supported the pop culture phenomenon that was Whitney Houston, because they deserve nothing less.

An Evening With Witney is designed to take audiences on a musical journey through Houston’s storied carrer using theatrical stagecraft, plus live performers, set to digitally remastered arrangements of Whitnery’s biggest hits and fan favorites, including ‘I will Always Love You’, ‘I Wann Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me), ‘The Greatest Love of All’, and an on – your – fet cover of Steve Winwood’s ‘Higher Love’.
