Beatrice Borromeo, Princess And Hard – Hitting Journalist: Meet The Italian Aristocrat And Dior Ambassador Wo Married Into The Monaco Royal Family

The high – achieving Italian artistocrat became a member of the Monegasque royal family in 2015, when she tied the knot with lon – time beau Pierre Casiraghi, the son of Princess Caroline of Hanover and the grandson of Grace Kelly.

Being the wife of a Monegasque royal and the daughter of a count and contess, however, is just a minuscule part of Borromeo’s identity.

She Is A Political Journalist

Borromeo is well known in her home country as a hard – hitting reporter and documentary filmmaker. The 35 – year – old royal has written for newspapers and hosted news television and radio shows. Unafraid to tell truthful stories, she has interviewed Italian politicians and exposed corruption and other forms of injustices.

She Has A Law Degree

Before receiving her master’s degree in journalism from Colombia University in the US, Borromeo graduated with a batchelor’s degree in law from Bocconi University in Milan. She was attending the prestigious school wehn she first crossed path with her future husband, who was studying international economics and management there at the time.

She Directed A Documentary About Woman in The Mafia

Borromeo has also produced documentaries that focus on sensitive social issues, from Italian women in the mafia (Mamma Mafia in 2013) to environmental problems. After marrying into the Monegasque royal family, however, she began striking a balance between raising her two boys, Stefano and Francesco, and running her own documentary film company called Astrea Films.

‘Inclusion, Equality, Unity’

When recently asked by Forbes if she still considers herself an atheist, she simply said that her values centre on ‘to treat everyone the same, no matter the colour of colour of their skin or their religious beliefs’.

The Most Fashionable European Royal?

When she’s not fighting injustice or taking care of her family, Borromeo is a darling of fashion houses and magazines – even though she claimed to Glamour magazine that she just wears a T – Shirt and jeans on a typical day. Her wedding day was a marvellous exception though, as the chic royal sported five haute couture dresses including Armani Prive and Valentino Gowns. She now regularly graces the front row at fashion shows and currently serves as an ambassador for Dior.
